A sundial formed in coloured paving slabs with iron numbers around a central sun motif, on the summit of a modern artificial hill. The gnomon is a large slanting slab of orange-brown iron with relief designs on either side. The 'Sundial' was unveiled by David Bellamy. The hill is now the highest point in North Tyneside.
