Tyne and Wear HER(11912): Sheriff Hill, Sheriff's Highway, Queens Head Public House - Details
Title of image: Queens Head Inn Public House, 64-68 Sodhouse Bank, Sheriff Hill
Artist: Manders, Frank
Date: circa 1900
Description: The Queen's Head Public House was mentioned in local trade directories as early as 1844. The frontage of the building now has a mock Tudor look, so it is possible that it has since been rebuilt or remodelled. It is now called simply the Queens. Sodhouse Bank has also been renamed and is now known as Sheriff's Highway.
