1876 wreck of German collier which stranded on the Herd Sand on her second attempt to enter the Tyne from Hamburg in southerly gales, diverted from her intended destination of Sunderland in ballast. She was an iron steamer. Master: Kroger or Vogel Crew: 19, all saved by Willie Woodhave lifeboat
