Wreckage

1793 wreck of Dutch cargo vessel which stranded on the Herd Sand en route from Dram to Amsterdam with deals. Crew Lost: 2 NB: At this period the appellation "Norway ship" does not refer to the nationality of the vessel, but rather to the kind of trade for which she was designed. The name YONGFROW and variants thereof indicates Dutch nationality, as does the word "yuffer", which is of Dutch origin. These reports, however, may represent an alternative version of the loss of a Danish vessel (q.v.) in a similar area at approximately the same date.
