Killingworth, Waggonway to Hope Pit
A short branch line ran west from the early route of the Killingworth Moor Waggonway (HER 1160) to Hope Pit. The line can be seen on Watson 20/A2 which dates to around 1800. The disused pit can be seen on Bell’s map of 1847.
