Tyne and Wear HER(15863): Walker, Dent's Hole, George and Dragon Public House - Details
Walker, Dent's Hole, George and Dragon Public House
By the late 19th century Dent's Hole was 'desolate and sad' with'everything about it hastening to decay'. The George and Dragon closed in 1878. It had been a busy industrial area with Dent's Hole Quarry, St. Peter's Works and Dock. Greenland whaling ships docked here.
