Tyne and Wear HER(15864): Walker, Dent's Hole, Ship Public House - Details
Walker, Dent's Hole, Ship Public House
By the late 19th century Dent's Hole was 'desolate and sad' with'everything about it hastening to decay'. The Ship closed in 1885. It had been a busy industrial area with Dent's Hole Quarry, St. Peter's Works and Dock. Greenland whaling ships docked here.
