Description
This series of pits was found during archaeological investigations in 2022 prior to the redevelopment of the site (report 2024/24). The row of oval and circular pits were cut into a grey silty clay alluvium overlying the natural subsoil. Small fragments of medieval pottery were recovered from the paleoenvironmental samples taken from the pits. One pit contained a residual worked flint, possibly Mesolithic or Early Neolithic in date.
