Description
This School is first shown on the Ordnance Survey second edition map of 1896. It is located at the southern end of Schoolhouse Lane and to the west of School Houses (HER19163). The main building is set within an enclosure with small buildings to the north and east, possibly toilets. To the west is a separate smaller enclosure with another building, possibly a house.
The main building was still standing (amongst modern buildings to the west and north) as of 2023, though in very poor condition with the eastern part collapsed. It was constructed from roughly dressed stone with dressed stone window surrounds, brick chimneys and hearths, and a series of steeply pitched slate roofs. There were separate Girls and Boys entrances.
