Structure


1892 made by Gillott and Johnson of Croydon. Cast iron clock tower 25 ft high in Gothic style but with classical motifs within the panels. Three stages above a square plinth, then tile clock stage overhanging and surmounted by small open drum, ogee cupola and vane. Painted black and gold. Inscribed: PRESENTED TO THE BOROUGH OF GATESHEAD BY WALTER WILLSON, MAYOR 1892. Exact facsimile of clock at Victoria Station, London. LISTED GRADE 2
