Description
This large pit was found during archaeological investigations in 2022 prior to the redevelopment of the site (report 2024/24). It lay within a building and contained domestic waste including animal bones and late 19th century glass, as well as waste from the recycling of scrap copper alloy including fragments of ceramic crucible and 4000g of fuel waste. It was overlain by a cobbled surface.
