Sandstone. Rusticated square plinth to pedestal and bust of John English.
Historical note: English was renowned for his strength.
Resited beside the house he built by Tyne and Wear CC from its original position
on Fellside, beside the house be built. Source: W Bourn, Annals of the Parish
of Whickham, Consett, 1982, pp 134-5. LISTED GRADE 2
