Description
This building was subject to archaeological building recording in 2006 prior to demolition. It was located in the gap between the rear of 211-213 Westgate Road and the rear of 4 Swinburne Place, facing east onto the part of Swinburne Place leading onto Westgate Road. It consisted of a three storey brick building with timber upper floors and a slate roof, with an approximate date of construction of 1828 based on historic map evidence. It had been subject to numerous alterations of the openings and prior to abandonment was used as a depot for a painting contractor. It was also known as 2/3 Swinburne Place.
