Was one of 16 public houses secured by Vaux when they absorbed the Edinburgh firm in 1959. Closed in 1968. Its licence was used to open the Man in the Moon in Princess Square. When the Royal Victoria was demolished, the red granite façade was salvaged and used for six polished name plates for John Dobson Street.
