Eating and Drinking Establishment
SITEDESC
Shown on Ordnance Survey second edition. In 1925 the brewster sessions reported of Jesmond Vale that the "property very old, residents of the working class" and the licensed houses were "very old and the structure and sanitary condition poor". Superintendent Thompson said Jesmond Vale "has one charm - for a lot of sly drinking". Consequently magistrates ruled that two of the three pubs in Jesmond Vale could be dispensed with. The Travellers' Rest closed in 1926.
