1995 by Matthew Jarrett. Seventeen cut steel reliefs painted white and mounted on the brick retaining wall behind the car park. The sculptures include ships, an anchor, a bell, an old fashioned steering wheel, pressure gauges and a crane. The wall below carries an old painted sign "Middle Docks". Commissioned by South Tyneside MBC as part of Jarratt's residency at Tyne Dock Engineering Ship Repair Yard.

Erected 6 August 1888. An oblong block of polished pink marble on a base and plinth. The front is carved with a Union Jack on a broken flag pole, the pediment with a cannon and ammunition. Inscribed on the front are the words: "THE/ GRAVE/ OF/ JACK CRAWFORD/ THE HERO OF/ CAMPERDOWN". On the front of the base are the words: "THE SAILOR WHO HEROICALLY NAILED/ ADMIRAL DUNCAN'S FLAG/ TO THE MAIN-TOP-GALLANT-MAST OF/ HMS VENERABLE/ AFTER IT HAD BEEN SHOT AWAY/ IN THE GLORIOUS ACTION OFF CAMPERDOWN/ OCTOBER 11TH 1797/ JACK CRAWFORD WAS BORN IN THE/ POTTERY BANK SUNDERLAND 1775/ AND DIED IN HIS NATIVE TOWN 1831/ AGED 56 YEARS". Erected by public subscription 1888. Jack Crawford died of cholera, the second victim of the disease in Sunderland. There is also an obelisk commemorating other victims of the same epidemic in the churchyard. All other gravestones have been cleared.

1997 by Rosie Leventon. Four large boulders each with a single vertical stripe, set in a line across the grass from the river bank to a line of trees. A fifth smaller boulder carries an inscription "HERE IS THE END OF THE LINE/ STAITHES AND THE START OF THE SEA/ THE WORM IN THE WATER". The stripe across the boulders represents the worked-out coal seam. Commissioned by the Tyne and Wear Development Corporation as part of the Stephenson Trail.

Building c. 1859; restored 1996. There are two carved dancing female figures (95cm high and 40cm wide) like caryatids on opposite corners of the shop façade. Each is brightly painted with a lilac dress, blonde hair and blue necklace. There are also brightly painted relief heads (10cm square) including a king and a queen.

1997 by Lynne Regan. Steel relief sculpture of George Stephenson's first locomotive and coal truck set into a grassed bank. Smoke from the locomotive's chimney is in concrete. Commissioned as part of the Stephenson Trail which runs from Easington Lane to the River Wear in the centre of Sunderland following the Hetton Colliery Railway.

1993 by Matthew Jarratt. Three well-headed shaped red brick walls 1.56m high and 3.6m wide with yellow fire clay panels set into them carved with a crane, house, ship, bridges and a lighthouse, with 'VEDRA' above in raised letters. There is also a boat-shaped planter in red brick, surrounded by coloured mosaics. Set in a wildlife garden to the rear of the community centre. Commissioned by City of Sunderland.

1997 by Mary Bourne. Nine boulders across the entry to a cut-through at the junction with Maplewood Avenue. Two more at the rear of the tarmaced area. Each stone is carved with animals, birds, fish or structures (one shows the Wearmouth Bridge).

1995 by Colin Wilbourn and Karl Fisher. Writer - Chaz Brenchley. A large red sandstone sculpture representing the ground floor of a house (a fireplace, coat hanging on a door, a table, a rug, books and desk). The rug is carved with the words "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND". The sandstone came from the Queen Alexandra Bridge. There are further words carved on a stone block outside the piece. Commissioned by the Tyne and Wear Development Corporation.

1988 by Abigail Downer. Three moulded concrete sculptures in Hylton Dene. 'Sleeping Dragon' is curled up asleep on a hillside in the central western part of the Dene. Four 'Footprints' lie to the east near the lake. East again in an area now fenced off are the remains of the 'Dragon's Nest' but the concrete eggs are now smashed. There was a competition for the artist in The Guardian in 1988.

1998 by Jon Mills and casted by Taylors Foundry, Haverhill. A black painted steel column in the shape of a fish tail, with an undersea scene, sea creatures, bones, a petrol pump and a car tyre on the main face. Commissioned by the Millennium Lottery Fund. One of 1000 mile posts funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland to mark the National Cycle Network.
