Moory Spot is a farm complex which dates to at least 1820 as it is labelled on Greenwoods Plan of Northumberland and is shown in detail on a Plan of Dinnington c.1820. The first edition plan shown is as comprising buildings arranged around a central yard, with attached paddocks and a circular engine house for a horse-driven threshing machine attached to the rear of the west side building, presumably the threshing barn. It appears with extensions on the 2nd edition Ordnance survey plan of c.1898.
